Two pages for most senior roles
Everything from the last 10–12 years in full detail, older roles condensed to one line, education at the end.
Three pages when it's justified
Executive roles with major deliverables, extensive publications, or heavy technical breadth. Every extra page needs to earn its space.
Never four+ pages
Outside academia and federal government, four pages says 'can't edit'. Cut.
