Two pages is not 'giving up on one page' — it's the correct choice for a specific set of situations.
Use two pages if
- You have 8+ years of directly relevant experience.
- You have significant certifications, publications, or patents.
- You're applying to federal or academic roles.
How to structure it
Page 1: header, summary, most recent 2–3 jobs, skills. Page 2: older jobs, education, certifications, publications. Every page must earn its space.
Repeat your name on page 2
Small header with your name and 'Page 2 of 2'. Matters when pages get printed separately.

Should page 2 be full?
At least two-thirds full. A page 2 with three lines on it looks worse than a tight one-pager.
